17 ft x15 1/2 ft (263 square feet)
This is the largest room, with a king sized bed (sleeps 2), a futon sofa (sleeps 2), a table, a sitting area, and a large, walk-in closet that converts to a small bedroom for one adult or two children. All bedding is new, with goose down and feather pillows and comforters, pretty duvet covers and bedspreads, and high quality cotton sheets. You'll have your own iron and ironing board, a hamper or laundry basket, and extra blankets and throws. Large windows on two walls flood this room in natural light, which you can filter with the sheers or block with the curtains.
If you're traveling with children, the huge closet of the Wildcat Canyon Room, which we call "The Little Farm," is equipped with small cots which can sleep two children. The Little Farm is named after a small teaching farm which is part of a nature education center at Tilden Regional Park. Visitors to Berkeley can take their children to experience The Little Farm, where they can pet the animals, travel on a miniature steam railway, and take a ride on the antique merry-go-round.
The room's namesake, Wildcat Canyon, is a valley just east of the Berkeley Hills where visitors love to go hike and picnic along Jewel Lake and Lake Anza. Wildcat Canyon was named for the mountain lions which used to be fairly common in the area. The southern end of the canyon is part of Tilden Regional Park and the northern end is part of Wildcat Canyon Regional Park. THE MUIR WOODS ROOM - $95/NIGHT | $600/wk

THE STRAWBERRY CREEK APARTMENT - $115/NIGHT | $725/wk
180 square feet
This unusual apartment is sometimes available (other times it is occupied by the host) and is great for someone who wants a lot of privacy. It is a tiny efficiency apartment that sits at the very back of the house, just off the backyard garden, and has its own private entrance. It includes a built-in kitchenette, a private bathroom, a raised sleeping loft (queen sized), and a small table and chair.
The apartment is named after one of several Berkeley area creeks which were formerly channeled into underground culverts and which creek restoration groups are working with the city to "daylight," or bring back to the surface. The Urban Creeks Council and Friends of the Five Creeks support conservation of the riparian areas in the town and along the coastlines as well. CLEAN AND GREEN
We provide green living supports (recycling, composting, chemical-free bath products, etc.). Each person cleans up after themselves immediately after meals and other activities in common areas. Your host does weekly deep cleaning of the entire house and launders your linens and towels weekly. Cleaning products are chemical-free and unscented (Seventh Generation and Dr. Bronners), so you'll smell only the fresh air. LOCATION/NEIGHBORHOOD
The house is located approximately 1/2 mile from University of California, Berkeley; just a few blocks from the popular Telegraph Ave, College Ave, Claremont Ave shops and restaurants; and 11 miles from downtown San Francisco. Public transportation, walkable shops and restaurants, and Zipcars are abundant nearby. *** NOT A PARTY HOUSE ***

AC and Dermot said: "We cannot say enough about the beauty, comfort, and ease of our experience of this guesthouse! The location has been perfect - we could walk to friends' houses, cafes, and shops. Our room was so warm and cozy, we didn't even want to go out, and the house had everything we needed and more. On top of that, the hospitality was more than gracious. We hope to stay here again and again - who needs a hotel? Thanks so much!" Dec 16, 2012

Smirti G says: "We had an excellent stay at this guesthouse. The room and the house are well-maintained, clean, and beautiful - even though all rooms were occupied when we stayed, it still felt like our own private place. The location is close to UC Berkeley and food/shopping area neighborhoods, and I was able to explore the area without needing a car. Amy is a welcoming host and she was extremely prompt in accommodating all our requests. She helped us change the room when we needed an earlier check-in, provided us a parking space, and even called to make sure we don't get lost while driving to the house. She has stocked the dining/kitchen area with organic teas/coffee/etc. instead of generic brands for the guests - it's a small detail but shows the amount of care Amy puts in to provide a high quality accommodation. I would definitely stay here again."
